Floral Design 1 and 2

This is a fine arts design course for students who have an interest in exploring their education in floral designing. This course provides students with a progressive approach to floral design. Students will learn technical knowledge and skills in flower processing, designing, and conditioning, as well as, marketing and sales, color, theory and applications, elements of design, construction of basic and intermediate designs, using fresh, silk or other materials, flower identification knowledge, communication services, and knowledge of various mechanics and tool identifications. The class utilizes several local businesses to provide off site learning experiences through class field trips. Membership in the FFA club is highly recommended for this class. A lab fee of 35 dollars is required. This course is also eligible for college credit through the Tech Prep consortium.
